Apologies for thinking out loud, but... I'll probably try
the change I mentioned earlier (putting target instead of source
in the changeset), and add a GitLab source step analogous to the
GitHub to use the source url and branch from the changeset's properies,
and clear revision as the GitLab step does.
Probably after https://github.com/buildbot/buildbot/pull/4097 is
(hopefully) merged.
