My two cents to the multitude of opinions :)

I usually do not go to the web interface unless there's something for me to do.
Hence I'd prefer an actionable home page:

* failed builds because of me
* failed builds
* my pending builds
* status of each builder with the number of pending builds (if any)
* offline build slaves

Pretty much the rest could easily be left to be accessed through menu etc.
