[Buildbot-devel] RFE - add slave's IP address into slave's status page

[ tried to open a ticket, but trac rejected it as my surname triggers its spam filter ]



Since the name the slave uses to register to the master need have no relevance to DNS names, it can be hard to know which machine to access if there are issues with the build slave. If there's a concern over security i'd like the option of showing the IP address even if the default is off.

The problem is only worse if there are multiple slaves running on a single host or its a latent slave, or other some other dynamic mechanism that does not allow for easy mapping of slave name to actual network address.


The master should use the last known IP address that was used to contact the master for the slave name.
