[Buildbot-devel] [GSoC] #2437 New Master-Slave Protocol

Hi,

I am Ruben Anton, currently 5th year student at University of Alicante,
Alicante, Spain.

I would like participe in GSoC 2013 under Builbot organization because some
of the project ideas seem me amazing, but the idea of designing and
building a new master-slave protocol is which has got all my attention.

I have been diving into Buildbot project some days: reading the
documentation, following the tutorials to create my first instance, trying
to fix a simple bug,... I deduce that mainly the master send to the slave a
step, and the slave returns the result of the step to the master, am I
right?

I think I have the proper knowledge of Python for working in the project
but I have no idea of Twisted at this moment. This is a problem when I try
to understand the code responsible of the communication between the master
and the slave. I haven't been able to find any overview about the
arquitecture or codebase of Buildbot.

If someone can explain me a little more in detail what sort of messages has
to exchange the master and the slave I will be very grateful.
