I met a bunch of Buildbot users at PyCon, and several even sprinted
with me: Lukas Blakk (Buildbot Tutorial merged to master), Greg Ward
(Blocker step), and Lital Natan (master-side keepalives and two(!) new
latent slave drivers). I also learned a number of things that will
help guide Buildbot's development and hopefully make it even more
awesome!
I didn't get as much of the "big project" work done as I had hoped.
As it turns out, sprints are hectic and distracting! But I have a
good plan for finishing the database overhaul, with a much more
efficient mechanism for matching build requests to slaves and starting
builds. Once that is done, there's just a bit of dead-code-removal to
do, and things will be ready to ship.
Which leads me to thoughts about 0.8.4. I'd like to release 0.8.4 in
about a month. Amber is handling the bugs and enhancements for this
release while I focus on the database work. So this is a good time to
start triaging bugs without milestones
(http://trac.buildbot.net/wiki/BugWrangling) and then fixing or
punting on the 0.8.4 bugs, with the goal of having 0 bugs by April 17.
