It is there in latest docs. Next to
http://buildbot.net/buildbot/docs/latest/full.html#Source-Checkout

Checkout steps are improved and docs of old one are moved to
http://buildbot.net/buildbot/docs/latest/full.html#Source-Checkout-_0028Old_0029
.
To use new checkout steps one should use different configuration.

Old git configuration can be found in

New one is here :http://buildbot.net/buildbot/docs/latest/full.html#Git

This is confusing for users. Feel free to report a bug and tag it as docs.
