I'd like some input on where to add the for the above.

Currently the vc-tests all follow the same pattern, so I don't know 
where to best inject a call to 'hg showconfig paths' and check it's output.

Likewise for http://buildbot.net/trac/ticket/451, which is a different 
scenario (mercurial should clobber on repo url change) that I've written 
a fix for, but it'd be nice with a test so we don't cause a regression 
unknowingly.

I'll mark both of these for review as well.
