Thanks -- those are all helpful points!  The SQL doesn't bother me,
since it's going into its own DB abstraction layer anyway.  The
interpolation problem is annoying, though.  I'm not sure how I'll get
around it.

This is a pluggable backend, so I will probably forge ahead with the
enterprise implementation, but others are certainly welcome to use a
different interface!
