[Buildbot-devel] status of next release

Just to keep everybody in the loop: I'm working hard on getting the next
release ready. There are a number of unit test failures under windows that
I'd like to get fixed before making the release.. it would be wonderful to
have a "green" win32 build at last. I'm deeply grateful to Niklaus Giger for
constantly re-running the test suite on his machine and investigating the
test failures there.

I've seen a couple of other intermittent test failures, but I don't think I'm
going to let them be blocking issues for this release. I've found that some
of the VC tests can fail when the host is under load (specifically when two
buildbot unit test suites are being run at the same time). In addition, I've
seen some IOError exceptions under OS-X 10.4 that I don't understand yet (I
suspect they need to be fixed in Twisted rather than in buildbot).

Once this release is out, there are a whole bunch of patches waiting to go
in. I think we've got new P4 support ready to go, there's a VSS patch
floating around out there, and a bunch of new email-parsing code.

so anyway, I encourage everyone who can safely do so to give the latest
Darcs/Arch tree a try and look for problems. I've not heard any recent news
about sf.net's anoncvs outage, so I assume that it is still broken. I've been
making changes today, so if the tree that you check out doesn't have 06 Apr
2006 in the ChangeLog file, you've got an old tree.

thanks all,
 -Brian
