We use the attached patch (which is a hacked-up version of a patch I
got from someone else, maybe the gstreamer folks or something?).

Biggest problem we have with it is that we should teach it to not say
anything (or at least say something different) when a build failed
because the slave got disconnected in the middle, which is a pretty
common occurrence for us.
