Thanks Pierre,

I hacked in a direct token authentication scheme to support my use case.
I've opened a PR <https://github.com/buildbot/buildbot/pull/2790> including
my changes, it's a pretty simple change that allows passing in the token
directly to the authentication framework, such that if you have a script
setup with a personal access token it can authenticate through github just
as if it had logged in.

I've tested this on GitHub and it works just fine, we can move technical
discussion of this patch to the PR.  Thanks!
