[users at bb.net] 0.8.12 status pickle performance? solution?

Still on 0.8.12 on my production system and loading the Console page is really slow b/c of all the pickles (long history on 20+ builders).  I haven't been tracking 9 development that closely, were the pickles replaced with something more performant?

Is there a suggested solution for 0.8.x?  I am not opposed to blowing away all of the history.  Can I just delete the Builder folders on the master while it is stopped?
