[Buildbot-devel] persisting information from a step into an e-mail

Hi,

I have a build step that produces, for instance, a binary that I upload to a shared NFS mount.
For convenience, I would like to include a link generated by said buildstep to this artifact in the e-mail.

I’m thinking of having build steps optionally build-up content to inject into the e-mail by using a property array.
Is this the best mechanism currently to get content to appear in the e-mail?  Is there a different side-band mechanism that I should use?

I suspect so but I’m interested if there are other mechanisms people use.
