Chromium's console has been available in stock Buildbot for quite some time.

In fact, the waterfall is a pretty awful way to display status for
just about everyone.  Grid and Console are better for lots of uses.  I
haven't quite figured out why new users seem to gravitate toward the
waterfall.

A big motivation for the structure of 0.9.0 is to make it easier to
customize status displays and build new displays.
