[Buildbot-devel] Where to document existing buildsteps?

I was tinkering with WarningCountingShellCommand, and ran into the  
classic Python re.match vs re.search issue. I don't see this class in  
the user manual, and the epydoc-format documentation just inherits the  
documentation from the superclass.

Where is the preferred place to add such documentation: the user  
manual, or the inline API documentation?

Also, I have been tracking the djmitche/release branch on buildbot. I  
haven't looked much at the 0.8 or 1.0 branches - is it worthwhile  
making the changes against the release branch, or should I just start  
from one of the other branches? (My first impression was that the  
other branches would have a very similar API, but are different under- 
the-hood.)
