I tried running my server as a daemon, but then I found that the process 
complete, and also didn't timeout. 

Here is the step, which I eventually killed on the slave after over an hour.

If anyone can help me with constructing a buildstep that completes without 
shutting down the underlying process, I'd be most appreciative.
