The slave is in 'updating source code' status, and it has not come to the other steps. It hangs up at source code checkout, which means the source code has not been updated successfully.

Hi Bill,

we had some similar issues with our XP slaves over here as well. In our
case the master was however running on a linux machine, but i assume the
problem is still similar. We had to increase various timeout values here
to get it reliable, on the one hand we put a "keepalive=3600" line in
the slaves .tac file, and on the other we have added an timout option to
very long taking buildsteps. However i wonder a little about the check
activity line in your log:

> 2009-07-08 09:58:42+0800 [-] BotFactory.checkActivity: nothing from master for 28454 secs

This suggest that there was no single response from your slave even
within nearly 8 hours, which we only saw when the slave was continously
busy with one buildstep for that long. So do you probably have one step
taking that long?
