Just a quick update about the coming 0.7.9 release.. the tree looks
pretty good right now. I'm updating the release notes with dozen-or-so
patches that have gone in since 0.7.8 . There are a few things I need
to puzzle over, and I'd like to improve the docs on the new "lock
access modes" since I don't understand them well enough to explain the
changes in the release notes. But apart from that things look good.

I'm in transit tomorrow, so I'm going to cut the actual release on
monday the 15th. If anyone knows about a show-stopper bug that also has
a patch (with docs+tests) ready for review, now would be a good time to
work on it :-).
