[Buildbot-devel] redundant array of inexpensive buildslaves

Hi folks, i'm setting up a buildbot for an open-source project. I think
i will eventually want about 50 distinct builds, on 6 or so *different*
buildslaves. I've started setting it up; so far I have 12 builds on two
different buildslaves. Each buildslave runs as a virtual machine.

What i'd really like to do is email copies of these virtual machines to
other volunteers in the project and have them run them whenever
possible. I think this is not easily doable currently, because each
buildslave needs a unique name, and needs its own entry in the builders'
'buildslaves'. So currently each person who wants to contribute cycles
to the buildbot would need to tweak the buildslave in the VM to have a
unique name, and then I'd have to tweak the buildmaster to add that
buildslave to the appropriate builders.

Is there a better way to do what I'm trying to do?
