Just a heads up, I'm aiming to make the next release at the end of the
week. I've closed or moved all the big items from the 0.7.7 milestone
on trac[1], and I expect to wrap up (or defer) the remaining ones over
the weekend. I know there are some things that got pushed to 0.7.8 that
folks were hoping to see in 0.7.7, but I felt it was important that we
get this release out sooner rather than later.
I plan to schedule the following release for about 4 to 6 weeks later,
and make it a time-based release rather than a feature-based release
(i.e. the thing ships at the end of april, regardless of how much or
how little we've gotten into it).
I've pulled in everything from Dustin's queue that feels ready, only
leaving out the "status grid" patch which I want to review more
carefully. I saw a couple of neat displays at PyCon last weekend,
including the grid-like display that some of the Twisted folks put
together, and I'd like to make sure that the status grid that gets into
trunk has the combined feature set of both.
(also, the pypy or py.test folks put together an awesome display of
individual test history.. I look forward to improving our
test-case-parsing interfaces so we can get something similar in the
buildbot status display)
So anyone who's in a position to do so, please give trunk some extra
testing this week, and report any serious release-critical bugs via
Trac. With luck, the current code is good enough to ship, and then
starting next week we can begin on some of the larger items that might
cause instability for a few weeks.
thanks,
-Brian
