I don't have a strong preference, but keeping with GPLv2 has the
advantage of putting the application in a pool with a lot of other
applications with which it can share code fairly freely.  Also, I
think you would need permission from all of the contributors to change
to anything but GPLv3.

Given that nobody has a good reason* not to use GPLv2, I vote for the
status quo.

*I agree with Dossy: the idea that *using* GPL code is somehow viral
is not a good reason, although IANAL either.
