It's something I've been meaning to apply and test - just haven't had
the time. I've had the same problem with Alioth being unresponsive and
stopping the SVNPoller loop, too.

FWIW, I'd put it in the tracker. It's easier to look at a tracker than
a mailing list archive when you're trying to figure out what should
and shouldn't be merged into the baseline.
