[Buildbot-devel] Aggressive IRC connecting

Hi there,

we have a small problem with the way bb connects to our IRC server.  It
attempts to connect so aggressively that when we restart the IRC daemon, bb
is *always* the first joiner and so becomes the channel owner.  This
prevents anyone else becoming a channel op.  The problem is so bad, we've
been forced to move bb to it's own channel.

Is there a way of configuring bb (or twistd) to wait a short while between
connection attempts (in the same way that irssi waits for 5 minutes by
default).  This would allow someone else a chance to get in before bb and
become the channel owner.
