[Buildbot-devel] Slave process hanging after reconfiguration on master system

Recently I've run into an issue that apparently has occurred in the
past:

To summarize: when I reconfigure on the master buildbot system, there
seems to be at least one system that appears to hang at one point,
and the slave buildbot log has the message:

     "but we weren't running, quitting silently"

I haven't been able to find any current references to this issue (it
remained unresolved in the mentioned thread), so I wanted to know if
either the issue is resolved with the latest version of buildbot, or
if not is there any information I can gather the next time it happens
to help track down this problem?  We are getting to a point where we
will be making configuration changes often enough (and across enough
platforms) that this could become painful for us.
