Yeah, the current effort[1] to simplify step construction by creating actual
instances in the config file (rather than classname/kwarg tuples) should help
here, since then you'll get an exception while the config file is being read,
instead of later.


Unfortunately that effort is going more slowly than I expected. If I can find
a reasonable way to refactor the code, I'm still going to try to get it into
0.7.6 . It might be the "long pole" for this release, though (i.e. the thing
that holds up the release for a long time).
