Hi Stephan,
This brings to mind a problem that I found with subversion via HTTPS.
If you haven't used subversion before and you set buildbot to do a
checkout, subversion sits there waiting for Buildbot to respond to a
question along the lines of "Do you want to accept this HTTPS
certificate from server.example.com?", to which you want to reply
'always' or something like that.
Subversion could maybe be invoked with some kind of "answer no to all
questions" option. This would make it fail properly, instead of timing
out, forcing the user to go and check that the certificate was ok by
doing a manual checkout.
If found that I needed to do the manual checkout, as you suggested here,
in this other case as well.
