 I'm not sure where to put this, because I see you've supposedly fixed the
 problem, but the bugzilla ticket you link to doesn't have a similar error.
 https://gist.github.com/868806 shows the same "fatal: could not parse
 object" error and then barrels forward as though all is OK.
