Comment:

 I just verified that it does work for posix systems, which is good :)

 The setup.py seems to be very careful to *avoid* using setuptools'
 setup(), and I don't understand exactly why that's the case.

 I wonder what zooko's patch was?  Why did he email it instead of attaching
 it?

 Hopefully some folks from the WindowsProject can take a look at this
