#942: Slave backward compatibility totally broken and underdocumented

I just upgraded my buildbot and found my slave didn't work. On #buildbot
they tell me there's a whole new package, buildbot-slave. So I installed
that, but then the existing buildbot.tac in the slave's config was using
methods that don't exist anymore (or have moved), etc. Strongly suggest
you find a way to preserve the interfaces used by legacy buildbot.tac.
No instructions for upgrading slaves in
http://buildbot.net/buildbot/docs/current/. When I go to the manual, the
section on installing only barely hints that I might need to find a
different package. The PyPI page makes no mention of the other package
(http://pypi.python.org/pypi/buildbot). To find the real instructions I
have to click the obscure "more..." link at http://buildbot.net/trac.
