 Would be very useful to be able to define warning and error patterns on
 all steps, not just on some few.

 The use case here is that we have some unit tests and integration tests
 that produce expected errors, same with certain compile steps. It makes it
 hard to see when real warnings occur when you can't ignore known warnings.
