 Oh.  It looks like the change was actually merged in
 https://github.com/buildbot/buildbot/pull/1669 but not correctly since it
 was missed that master had actually changed from eight so instead of a
 backport it was an old implementation of the change.

 We should either revert the merge or get the change from
 https://github.com/buildbot/buildbot/pull/1711 merged in ASAP (still
 waiting on a review).
