 Looks like my {{{Poller}}} never gets activated. The {{{doPoll}}}
 attribute/function/descriptor is created, but never triggered according to
 my extra logging ...

 I could probably link it to that commit:

 I'm now trying to understand who should call that {{{activate()}}} method
