Comment (by ewong):
Here's my $0.02 and I'm just throwing this out as a 'note' rather than an
advice.
Here's a possible reason why I would feel 'uncomfortable' (from the
viewpoint of a
new user) in having the create_master generate a 'master.py' instead of a
master.cfg,
even though it's just Python code. (Please note that this is purely a
psychological thing rather than a technical issue.)
.cfg implies configuration (user-editable/configurable)
.py implies code
If a user creates the buildmaster, he/she would 'intuitively' go to the
*.cfg to fiddle with the settings.
After all these years of configuring software, the first place I would
look
to configure it is in the .ini/.cfg/.cnf/.conf. Anywhere else is less
than
intuitive. (Which is one of the reasons why I stumbled with Django.)
That said, perhaps I'm just being too stubborn for my own good.
So, again. Just my $0.02.
